Update to COVID-19 employer and employee supports

Further recent changes have been announced in respect of employer and employee supports. We have updated our summary of these supports to reflect recent changes, which include the following:

  • The government has now decided that the Pandemic Unemployment Payment (PUP) will remain open to new entrants until the end of 2020 given the need to continue supporting people through the next phase of the pandemic
     
  • The Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection has confirmed that short-time work support is available even where the employer is claiming the Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme for days of employment
