Tips for running talks and obtaining CPD certs

CPD FAQs

Q: How do I download the CPD certificate?
A:  When you complete a recording, use the arrow button (located at the bottom right of the video player) or scroll down, to reveal a link to generate a completion certificate.

You'll receive your certificate by email shortly. (Remember to check your spam folder should no certificate appear in your inbox after 30 minutes).

If you have completed the above steps and still haven't received a certificate contact knowledge@algoodbody.com

Q: After watching a KnowledgePlus eLearning talk, I did not manage to save or print out my certificate. What should I do?
A: If you have followed the steps above the cert will be emailed to you. Check your spam or junk folders in case the cert has been diverted there.

The cert is sent from the  email address knowledge@algoodbody.net. You may wish to check with your IT department that the email has not been blocked by your company's email filters.

If you you cannot find any emailed cert contact knowledge@algoodbody.com giving your name and talk title and we can check when you logged into the system and ran the presentation.

We can then forward a letter of certification or regenerate a certificate for you for that talk.

Q: What CPD do the on-demand KnowledgePlus recordings qualify for?

A: The on-demand recordings on KnowledgePlus are eligible for CPD with the Law Society of Ireland.

These recordings are not accredited with any other body.

Q: How do I ensure successful running of the KnowledgePlus eLearning talks?

A: Successful running of the presentations depends on your device format (PC, laptop, phone, tablet), broadband speed, browser type and version. In addition, privacy and security settings differ from organisation to organisation, and between personal devices. These factors are largely outside the control of A&L Goodbody.

Q: Can I stop a talk and pick it up later?

A: You can pause the talk using the pause/play button on the player.  If you shut the browser part-way through a talk, you will have to re-watch from the start of the video next time.

This is the intended behaviour of the player and is in place to meet Law Society eLearning requirements.  The Law Society requires eLearning sessions to be watched in one sitting to qualify for CPD.

Q: How much of my CPD requirement can be satisfied through online learning?

A: The Law Society have placed an 80% cap on eLearning for the 2024 CPD cycle. This means that you can now claim up to 20 hours of  your entire 2024 CPD requirement from eLearning.

More information on the 2024 CPD cycle is available from the Law Society here.
