Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) (Amendment) Bill 2018
The long awaited Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) (Amendment) Bill 2018 (the Bill) has now been published. The Bill gives effect to the Fourth Money Laundering Directive (Directive (EU) 2015/849 (4AMLD)) and proposes a range of amendments to existing anti-money laundering (AML) legislation set out in the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Acts 2010 and 2013. The Bill does not repeal the current legislation. Going forward, all businesses falling within the scope of this legislation will need to be mindful of three separate Acts and any further associated guidance to be issued.
