Belgian DPA issues €50,000 fine for DPO’s conflicting company roles

The Belgian Data Protection Authority recently imposed a €50,000 fine under the GDPR, on a large telecommunications operator. It ruled that the tasks and duties of the company’s Data Protection Officer conflicted with its role as Head of Audit, Risk and Compliance.
